The Marble Plinth Table: How they are formed

Join us as we investigate how the marble plinth coffee tables are created from unfinished blocks of Calacatta Viola marble to create stunning works of art.

Four plinth tables from the Gold Boutique's collection are crafted from exquisite Calacatta Viola marble. The Marble Plinth Coffee Table shows the beauty of marble for an exquisite yet strong display, with each table unique due to the nature of the stone that has been handmade by our trained artisans. The Plinth Sculptural Table is totally made from this particular material. A lifetime career working with marble begins after two or three years of training to become an expert. The Plinth Tables are made by artisans with years of experience to achieve the highest quality finish.

The Marble Selection

Our stone mason meticulously chooses which marble slabs are suitable for manufacture. As the factory has a labyrinth of unfinished slabs of natural marble ranging from the deepest reds to the purest whites, this needs exceptional attention to detail and experience. The stone mason's extensive experience working with marble over the years has given him tremendous understanding, enabling him to tell whether a slab is of high quality or not. Only Calacatta Viola marble slabs of a particular high quality are chosen for the Plinth Tables.

Fabrication

After being manually selected one at a time, the enormous marble slabs are divided into smaller pieces using a specialized cutting device with a large blade that slices through material slowly and is kept from overheating by a continuous stream of cold water. After that, a professional artisan working in the factory miters each piece. This is how the recognizable marble edge is created, and it fits together perfectly. The marble is next prepared for polishing, which will create the smoothest surface imaginable.

 Marble Quarries

Approximately 270 quarries are now in operation overall. More over half of these are in or near Carrara. Expert research has shown that there is still a significant amount of high-quality marble under the mountains of marble in this area, meaning Carrara will be able to meet the current level of demand for its marble for generations to come. Carrara-based quarries now have to adhere to a number of different laws due to the tight requirements and certifications. As a result of advanced technology, these rules also lead to environmentally friendly production processes that do not require large amounts of energy usage.

The factory wastes almost nothing because of this. Smaller pieces are used for roadways, and larger leftover pieces are used to coat structures. Additionally, the factory includes an internal circular water system that makes sure all water is recycled.

Final Product

These tables, in our opinion, are ideal for bringing personality to any modern setting. They will go well with a variety of interior design types because to its neutral look. To add more color, you may put a lovely vase with a bunch of flowers on top.
